The debut single from Lanarkshire band De Rosa shows that things are looking good in the build up to their debut album later this year. Lead track ‘Camera’ is an energetic blast of rock with a similar power and pace that you used to be able to find on old Seafood albums. All dissonance and fuzz, the production and clarity matches their musical efforts step-by step, as does the surprisingly strong vocal track that provides all the right hooks when it matters most.

‘All Saints Day’ shows a little more depth in songwriting away from the original turmoil. Slower and darker, with more space left to the imagination, it’s not quite as instant but still retains a big chorus that eventually erupts.

While it’s unlikely that De Rosa will change the face of rock music with this formula, they’ve created a powerful introduction for themselves, and their songs fit in nicely with the direction the British alternative rock scene has been moving towards in recent years.
