The mystery surrounding Edinburgh band Aberfeldy possibly just existed in my head. Until now I knew nothing except that they were signed to Rough Trade, and I just couldn’t find out additional information. That was until tonight, when whoosh, I finally tracked down a page. Yes, one solitary page that doesn’t tell me much at all. Still, at least it has music.
Of which, Aberfeldy are much brighter and poppier than I could imagine. Like sunshine indie-pop, the acoustic guitars strum innocently and the melodies flow like it’s the summer of love. Having missed the band live in Holland this May, the two audio samples on the page will have to suffice until the release of their album Young Forever in June.
