Yes, Andrew Bird has been recommended here before. He was the first Stayfun recommendation actually, and that kinda feels like a long time ago. But this isn’t all just another lame attempt at sycophancy, because Andrew Bird’s music has played a big part behind the scenes at Stayfun this year, not just with me but with my friends too, and now there is this wonderful new MP3 online and we just want to share it.

‘Sovay’ is a new-ish song. He played it live a lot on his recent tour of Europe, and it’s also the bonus track on the European release of Weather Systems too. Yet it isn’t like the rest of that album, perhaps feeling more traditional. It sounds so lovely, though, and it’s been described as just like he is having a conversation with you as the song progresses. There’s even some phrasing that reminds me of Meindert Talma’s ‘Dat is Niet Goed He’ so I keep expecting Dutch vocals to start up. Still, if you download this, it’s guaranteed to be one of the prettiest things you hear all day.
