The history and future of Edise seems almost fluid. The duo state that they are originally from Finland, but have lived in Estonia, Germany, and now the UK. They even have some Dutch roots in their past too, so the influences of European living are buried deeply into their music. Regarding themselves as a lo-fi brand of slowcore/emo, their songs tiptoe along lightly like a Lisa Germano that is too afraid of waking up the cat, and using alternating male and female vocals to delicately portray their thoughts and feelings.
When they aren’t selling their music off cheaply, they’re giving it away instead. There are lots to sample via their website in the MP3 sections, but start with ‘Welcome’ from the album Burning to See You, which is as gentle as can be, featuring the soft female vocals of Mag in this case.
