El Hombre Trajeado rock my world. You may not think so considering I’ve had their album for six weeks now and barely mentioned it on Stayfun (other than the crude banner advert currently on the site). But jesus, their album is fun. It’s also a complete mindfuck.
Talk about unpredictable. El Hombre is what it feels like to walk four seemingly random pathways each taking you through extremely different landscapes in complete synchronicity. Rooted firmly in the more mathematical side of indie-rock, but influenced by twisted jazz styles, the places they take you are almost indescribable - which is a terrible thing when I urgently need words to convey their brilliance.
Anyway, this isn’t a review. It’s a rambling plea of ‘please go listen’. They’re from Glasgow. The album Schlap is out now on Lost Dog Recordings, and this song is a strictly limited offer. Grab it while it’s hot and send some money their way because they deserve it (and someone tell me to hurry up and review the full thing).
