On the face of it, G-Plan have a post-rock instrumental thing going on, and at first it's hard to look beyond the other bands of the style - Mogwai anyone? However, just because a style of music has been done before doesn't mean it should then burn in hell for eternity, and the thing is, G-Plan actually seem pretty good at it.
The full sample available on their website is 'There's People Lying Dead in the Stairwell', and it takes some time to develop itself through slow arpeggio passages, before doing something even Mogwai forgot how along the way - hit the distortion pedals and have some fun.
All in, it's a promising number, and with G-Plan currently recording an album with Brendan O'Hare (Macrocosmica, Teenage Fanclub, Mogwai), which is due out in Spring, they're a band to look out for.
