The Gossip
While the garage rock movement has shunted a lot of shit into the spotlight, a lot of great bands who’ve been doing their thing for years merely got shoved over to the side. The Gossip are one of those stunning live acts who’ve deserved much more but not really received it.
It’s a shame because this raw trio really does put on powerful gigs. Simple drums, loose guitar, and the towering gospel voice of Beth Ditto blows away most other bands. Admittedly, they haven’t quite reached full potential on record, but they have touched on it at times, so they’re definitely an act to keep your eye on.
