Ian Simpson’s album Citizen Awake has already been reviewed on Stayfun. However, a little extra promotion is well deserved, especially as this song is so lovely.
And yes, the irony isn’t lost on me that I’m sitting in a 30 degree heat listening to a song titled ‘Snowfall’, but it’s a bloody nice track. Its tones are so soft, its melodies so rounded and likeable, and its ambition so unshackled. This is how home recording should sound. It proves you don’t need perfection, just imagination and some effort to create something special.
