John Guilt

John Guilt didn’t make it into my life until the Scout Niblett European tour of November last year. Even then, it was just main man Andy Goldman performing a selection of John Guilt and Maestro Echoplex material. It was impressive though – enough so to warrant purchasing the John Guilt album The Mirrors and Uncle Sam.

Apparently the John Guilt project is on a break currently, and Andy is working on another under his own name (partly) Andrew Spencer, so there should be new stuff to look forward to from that soon. Still, I don’t want to forget about John Guilt, so I want to recommend ‘Inferno’, an unreleased track just made available on their website. Lead vocals come from John Berry this time, but it’s still very John Guilt, with a heavy atmosphere, sparse vocal parts, and swinging melodies appearing.
