Back in 1999 I loved Remy Zero. They were the soundtrack of a summer. Long car rides and long nights lying under glow-in-the-dark starry skies. A great live band too, they seemed particularly under-rated, and striking up a touring partnership with Scotland’s Travis didn’t exactly help them find credible success.
As it is, I only ever owned Villa Elaine, but even putting it on now it makes me happy. So I was quite surprised when in a moment of nostalgia (knowing full well Remy Zero were no more) I googled them and it turned up that the band’s two brothers Shelby and Cinjun Tate had formed a new project titled Spartan Fidelity.
I don’t know much about them other than what I hear from the free files online but they’re like a stripped down version of Remy Zero. It’s worth checking them out.
